Prayer Letter - August, 2008 |
|
Greetings to our faithful supporters and friends,
We trust that the Lord is blessing you all; His hand is bestowing grace upon your ministries and lives.
This August is all but over and we are experiencing a very hot and unbearable heat wave.
On the 3rd of August we held our first service on our property and we had a real good turnout. All of July we focused on the move and although there were some things left undone, nevertheless we had a great day celebrating the goodness of the Lord upon this church. With 201 in service we were blessed to have 6 adults respond to the gospel invitation. During the Jr. Church we also had several kids accept the Lord for salvation. In addition, a few parents returned for the evening service and had a good time with us as we showed a short video presentation of the last few years of growth in Calvary Baptist. It was bitter sweet for many of us as we decided to not cut out any of the families that have left us under our assistant Leo's attempt to throw us out. It was sad knowing that the majority of these brethren are now shipwrecked and left without a church home as Leo himself has abandoned all of them and desires no fellowship with any of them.
Last Sunday on the 17th we celebrated our first graduate of the Calvary Baptist Bible Institute. Brother Samuel Castro has completed the studies and was awarded his diploma in the evening service. His 4 years of hard work has manifested in his growth in the Lord and we are praying that the Lord direct him. He has mentioned a desire to perhaps return to El Salvador and work for the Lord there reaching his people. We are so proud for him. Samuel leads the Youth ministries, the choir and leads music during the services. He is a very energetic young man and has become a real Timothy to this missionary.
Our building project still needs your prayers and financial help. Our needs total to around $ 20,000, which in light of construction in the States isn't very much. We are pleading with you to pray about what part you would have in this very worthwhile project. We sure would appreciate hearing from you soon. We thank you in advance for you generosity.
God bless you,
